According to eMarketer’s latest estimates of e-Commerce sales around the world, overall business-to-consumer (B2C) e-Commerce sales in Latin America will rise 22.1% this year to reach $62.56 billion. The growth rate will continue in the double digits through next year.

For eMarketer, Brazil is the leader when it comes to e-Commerce sales in the region, accounting for $23.35 billion of the total sold in 2014. E-bit indicates that in the first half of 2014 the Brazilian e-Commerce registered a nominal growth of 26% over the same period of 2013 and the market is forecast to achieve 21% higher results than in 2013, reaching 104 million purchases.

According to the same report, one of the factors responsible for the registered growth in Brazil is the inclusion of new consumers in online retail. Until June of this year 5.06 million bought for the first time through e-Commerce. In total, 25.05 million consumers shopped online in the first half of the year. By the end of 2014, Brazilian online stores are expected to reach 63 million unique consumers purchasing at least once via the Internet.

eMarketer expects B2C e-Commerce sales in Mexico to reach $11.43 billion in 2014. In Argentina, facing an embattled economy, sales will hit $5.46 billion and shows an impressive growth towards next years. Growth in Brazil and Mexico is still solidly in the double digits as well.
