Credit and Debit Card Purchases in Brazil Increase and Total R$ 1.05 Trillion in 2015

Shopping purchases in Brazil by credit and debit card totalled R$1.05 trillion in 2015. This represented an increase of 9% over 2014.

The figures are based on projections provided by ABECS, the Brazilian Association of Credit Cards and Services Companies.

It further revealed that the total amount transacted via credit cards was R$648 billion, an increase of 6.2%, whilst debit card use rocketed up with a 13.8% increase at R$402 billion.
