According to comScore Media Metrix Research Latin America is ahead of any other region in the world when it came specifically to time spent with social media.

comScore has also found that Brazil’s internet users lead the rest of Latin American countries in the amount of time they spend online each month.

Internet users in Brazil spent 37.7% more time online than the average in Latin America. Argentina, with 21.0 hours spent online on average per month, is the only other country close to the region’s 22.0-hour average.

Recent survey undertaken by Conversion, the Brazilian leading website optimization (SEO) company, confirms the Brazilian user behaviour: one in five e-Commerce visitors already use mobile phones and tablets for virtual shopping. Over 10% of all the internet sales are made through these mobile devices.

The survey shows an increase of over 200% in the use of mobile in e-Commerce in the first half of 2014 compared with the same period last year. In 2013, the use rate of these devices in online purchases was only 1.8%, compared to the 3.5% registered in the first six months of this year.
