Tigo Pesa
Tigo is the mobile money brand of the telco Millicom. In Tanzania, the service is branded Tigo Pesa.
Users can load their Tigo Pesa accounts at agent locations or via bank transfer and then make money transfers, buy mobile phone top-up, purchase goods and services or pay bills.
In January 2019, Tigo launched a smartphone app which gives users access to more than 300 government ministries, agencies, utility companies and service providers to pay bill and the ability to make and receive payments via QR codes, among other features.
