Mi Pay

Mi Pay is a contactless NFC-based mobile payment system that supports credit, debit and public travel cards in China.

The service was launched by Chinese technology company Xiaomi in partnership with UnionPay. In December 2018, Xiaomi launched Mi Pay in India in partnership with ICICI Bank and PayU.

It uses the Indian UPI (Unified Payments Interface), a real-time interbank settlement service for mobile transactions. It can only be used on Xiaomi smartphones running the MIUI firmware. Customers can make and receive money transfers, pay bills and buy mobile airtime.
